Listerine for scaly leg mites?

Has anyone ever heard of spraying legs with scaly leg mites with Listerine? I've read lots of treatments on here in the past few days but haven't seen anything about this and it's something my chicken vet recommended. I've been brushing canola oil on 21 chickens legs and bag balm on two older girls whose feet and legs looked really bad.

Hmmmmm, it kills everything else, why not mites? Go for it.

The only thing I'd worry about is how drying it will be. But that may not be a concern for chickens! If your vet recommended it - then I'd definitely try it. Please let us know if it works!

Vaseline works well for scaly leg mites.....
