I have 8 hens including a 12 month Welsummer - this morning she was fine, even laid an egg today.
I went up to the run mid afternoon to check on everyone and she was sitting in a dust bath panting. I did my usual treat routine and all she did was stand up. Her comb has become pinkish vs the red of this morning. I checked her body out, no signs of mites or obvious infestations. All my chicks were vaccinated for Mareks when I got them. When I cleaned the poop board this morning, i didn't notice anything wrong with any droppings. It is hot in Georgia today but they have shade all day and there is a nice breeze. None of the other hens are panting much.
Suggestions?

Offer her some cold water....
Have you seen her drinking today?

She may be dehydrated.
"Tube feeding" her some water with electrolytes would be a good idea.

I'm sorry for your loss.
If is was dehydration is can kill quick.
Are you bale to send her body for a necropsy?

Had you ever wormed her?
Did you check her over for mites?

Strange if it was dehydration as there are 2 water spots always available.
Calling University of Georgia poultry diagnosis center at the veterinary college tomorrow to get information on bringing her over. Necropsy is under $18
