Litter / Bedding Issue with a Coop Over Run

Our coop is an old, renovated raised rabbit hutch. We've enclosed the portion underneath. There is a small pop door in the floor of the coop. How do I add a substantial amount of litter on the floor without it just falling down the hole?

You could consider building a raised lip around the door to prevent the litter from falling through the opening. Chickens are rather agile.
