Little brown bugs in chicken coop/pen! How to get rid off them?! Please help!!!

Yesterday I was renevating the chook coop. After I finished I came up stairs and noticed brown bugs running all over me, obviously small. I flicked and squashed some but when I could see heaps running on me, and occasionally biting me, I scrubbed my self in the shower. They were gone. I then was petting the chickens and holding them I noticed no bugs on them or coming onto me. But when I touched the coop or went to feed them or add more hay to it, or just walk around the pen, I see them swarming up my arms and legs. I was wondering what they are and how I can get ride off them. I only noticed then yesterday. I have been fine before when I have sat In the coop etc.

What your talking about sound to me like mites. I had exactly the same problem. I just went to the feed store and got a spray bottle of mite remover for the parakeets and parrots and sprayed it on my coop. It seemed to work like magic. Hope this helps!
