If this has been asked I apologize as I don’t know what they are to look up . These things get in our hair all over our arms we’ve tried lime and diatomaceous earth and they keep returning I zoomed in on one photo but they are not that big they’re very tiny and driving me nuts .TIA
Brandi ❤️

Maybe a type of springtail? I think I would try using permethrin. DE and lime might only be effective as a preventative and not a treatment. You can spray a liquid based permethrin in the coop. Once it dries, it's fairly nontoxic and lasts about a week or so.
Ok thank you , I did see someone post some springtails in the group but I wasn’t sure bcas they didn’t look exactly the same . As far as color but the amount of them is the same there are tons and itch in my hair it’s so gross . Thank you I will use permethrin

Well, from what I read, springtails really like moisture. If you can control that, that would probably be a huge measure (if that's what they are, but sounds like it. Do they "jump?").

I also learned that they aren't really insects, they are hexapods, so insecticides may or may not be the solution, but I hope you can figure that all out! It sounds miserable.

Sorry for the late response I forgot to check for replies it’s been crazy here . We’ve had a lot of rain in south la and now we have that tropical system so rain is in the forecast all thru next week . They don’t jump like fleas well I haven’t seen them do it but they must bcas we had some older babies in the brooder and soon as I opened it I could already feel them crawling in my hair and arms . We moved those babies out now so I’ll be able to clean real good and spray but there’s a 100 of them my husband had to catch to move to the big coup. We brought one of the marans home and she has them on her so we sprayed her with poultry protecter and they were gone the next day I’m have him check those babies tom and see if they’re on them I’ll be there all day spraying 100 babies lol these things are annoying .
