My chicken puff is a buff Orpington about 12 weeks has hurt herself today. It is around the neck not that deep but it is wide. We put cream and spray on it but she hates the rap around it because she can't itch herself so we took it off. Is there anything else I could use or does she really need it. She seems fine because she is eating all the popcorn inside. I can't take a picture right now because my kindle is being crazy.

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :) Try posting in the "Emergencies/ Diseases/ Injuries and Cures" section.

How did she get injured? Is it a puncture wound, scrape, cut, etc. I am assuming it isn't bleeding. It's best if she is kept inside till the wound closes over and is dry. You don't want flies laying eggs in it, the resulting maggots are much worse than any initial wound. You can treat her with neosporine (NO CAIN), and spray around with Blu Kote to disguise the wound. Chickens go nuts when they see a wound and will peck it fiercely.

If she doesn't show any signs of infection, she should heal nicely. You can also post at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread if you need more advice.
