When do chickens grow up? I have 4 pullets that are 4 months old. They are tiny and still in a "brooder" inside the big chicken run. My friend, Tab, got some at the same time as me and says hers look like they are grown.

I wish I had pictures, but it has been thunderstormy for two days here. Here's a drawing:

(10 month hen) (3 month pullet) NOT TO SCALE

LOL

Are my chicks stunted? They are fully feathered with tiny combs. It's 3 ancona and one dominique. They are probably 1/3 the size of my grownies. It seems like the RIR (my hens) were bigger at 3 months.

My one RIR chick I hatched is 3 mos. old and almost as big as the grown hens.

you probably have bantams not standards and yes bantams are 1/3 of the size of regulars. But I love them.

At 4 months your chickens are teenagers and ready to live outside. They won't get too much bigger than they are right now.

Oh, thanks for the great advice. They could be bantams! I will begin transitioning them this weekend. I will also try to take pix. They are sweet.
