Little eggs, disappointment?

Hello, all! Since my hens are only 9 weeks old, I am still buying eggs from a local farm. Today I bought two dozen and when I got them home I saw that there were a few tiny eggs in there, presumably from new layers. I proceeded to "oogle" over how cute they were, and how somebody just graduated from chick school, to which my husband laughed and said most people would be angry about getting such tiny eggs. I am definitely not most people. Having chickens has been a wonderful experience so far, I can't wait for the next phase! ☺️

It's worth the wait! :D But your hubby does have a point - I'd expect a bit of a discount if I got some pullet eggs instead of just full-sized ones, unless the seller communicated, in advance, the possibility of smaller eggs being included. And back when I sold eating eggs, I only included eggs that were full-sized or very close to it - no minis (those were for me, lol).

If it's not a concern for you, though, enjoy those pullet eggs. They are fun, just not as much as when you find your own flock's!

I don't mind the little eggs :) I do agree that it'll be much more exciting when my little velociraptors start laying themselves, though🤩🤩🐔
