Little Giant Problems

I chucked the therm that came with the bator and got a digital temp/humidity one from walmart. It works great! I do not follow the humidity much though, the bator is in my basement which tends to be the right amount of humidity even without adding any until the last day. In early spring though, I do have to add a bit of water but its not constant throughout the whole cycle.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I took the plug back out and dried up most of the water out of the bottom and I think I finally have it about where it should be. It is ranging between 99.7 and 101 and the humidity is staying around 50-53. So I think I am on track now. I will let you guys know how it goes. thanks again for all your help. I do think that the outlet was the problem, not letting a steady current go to the incubator. I have it hooked to a surge protector but I think it was still sort of surging. Anyway, I hope it goes well, but we shall see. I have started a calendar so I can make notes as I go and look back at things in the future and for future hatchings. Maybe I can learn from this one and improve each time. That is what it is all about isn't it?

One thing that has always helped me with swings in the temperature is to have the bator plugged into a surge protector. This seems to help with variations in the electrical current.

I do have it connected to a brand new surge protector. But I moved it and it seems to be fine now. Staying just right on temp and humiday. So cross your fingers!

I have had it connected to the surge protector the whole time. But I still think the electricity was not a constant flow or something. Maybe that was not the problem at all, not sure. But everything is fine for now. I have it in my bedroom floor and I covered the windows so that when I am in there with the light on it wont affect them. So far so good. The temp is staying around 100-101 and the humidity around 50-52. So I am hoping all is going well. When can I candle them to see what is going on? I have some lt brown eggs and some white. Thanks again for all the help.
