I'm not sure about the barred rock, but the red is a pullet.

If your BR has any pink on the comb, I'd keep an eye, but I do think it's a girl, but not positive.

Edit to add-- your BR does look like a female. She's going to have a big comb.

The barred rock is starting to get a little too light-colored for comfort. There does seem to be a confined head spot, though. Post a new picture of "her" in a week or two.
