our swedish blues have just harched , one of them has awhitish pink fleshy lump about 2mm in height on its head. i have no idea what i should do or what it is. it is doing the expected floppy standing and moving around in the incubator. does anyone know what this lump is?
I have no experience with this at all, and hopefully someone who has will drop in.
My first thought when I saw it was crested gone bad. A crest developed poorly and left brain exposed (which happens a large portion of the time with cresteds). Is there any history of crested that you know of? I could be very wrong about this, of course.
So far as im aware they are pure(?) swedish blues without any crested in their line. although the more i look around online the less im worried and the more i think you could be right, Bump-as it has now been nik-named-appears happy and healthy in all other ways so i guess the only thing to do is wait and see.
I may be over worrying as the first hatchling out of this batch died in the shell, it got 3/4 unzipped and then must have suffocated, just lost another hatchling out of this hatch it was underdeveloped and malpositioned, i tried to help but it wasnt destined to be, another was malpositioned but i have exposed its beak and it is happily meeping in its shell.
