I am still *fairly* new to chicks. I saw these at tractor supply when I went for supplies, and bought a few. They were in the "Assorted Pullet" bin. All of there chicks look like this, or are completely yellow, with pure white feathers coming in. Mine all look like this:

The little fethers that have begun to come in are white and reddish brown splotches. They got them as "Assorted Pullets" from Privett.

Any suggestions?

BTW: This one has a bit more yellow then the others, but they all have that red and yellow chipmunk look, just not as contrasted (if that is the right word?).

Looks like some kind of Polish. Any I hate to say it but it could be a young rooster..

lol, that chick does have quite a head of hair on it! I would be very pleased if they are gold sexlinks. I wonder what their white ones were? They had straight run and pullets, separated, but both tubs had pretty much the same chicks in them, though there were many more white ones in the straight run than in the pullet container...and from what I read, the white ones of the gold sex links are males... I hope their white birdies are actually pullets of a different breed. Supposed to be "assorted", but they were ALL either yellow or chipmunky.

They look like gold sex link pullets. They are WONDERFUL layers! I have 7 and they lay wonderful large - jumbo brown eggs.

Sex-links dont have Caps ("puff")..

None of the chicks have an actual cap. This little bugger was just kind of posing funny. She is fluffy, but definitely not capped.
