Hello! I have an acre and a coop with 15 young chickens that are not laying yet. We recently lost 8 due to a predator attack so now would actually be a good time to introduce new ones. Can also take Turkeys and Peacocks If anyone needs to rehome them, I live in Littleton and would be happy to drive to pick them up. Please let me know :) -Lins

Would you be interested in a Black Orpington Roo?

Possible but only if he is friendly. We have young children that play with the chickens. Otherwise my husband will just eat him :(
He's no cuddle bug. But has never shown aggression. I have my little kids in with him too. He comes around close to me and will jump up on me for treats but we don't hold or pet much. Hes still young so idk what he will grow up to be, but I think he has potential to be a good rooster boy.

And I understand him being dinner if he's not. Just would like him to have the chance, I guess.

Okay as long as he can be tempted with treats and my kids can hang around him I think there’s potential for good boy behavior:) where do you live?

I get it we had 2 roosters and the first one was great, despite threats to be dinner so he was allowed to live. He gave his life protecting the girls last week :( I was very fond of him and am looking for another good protector who let’s my kids feed him treats

Sounds good. I'm getting our travel details together so I know when we will be where. And when I told my husband, he didn't tell me I was nuts, so that's good! I'll have to figure out the best way to transport him too, it'll be a long drive, but I know there's some help on this site for that :)
