Live hatch stream up

My first egg just pipped an hour ago, so hatching could start any time. A few more eggs have internally pipped so I hope to see something from them soon as well. I have 13 in the bator all together.

Did that one pip underneath the air cell looks like it in the stream?

I looks like it is just above the edge, like maybe a hair above the edge...is that bad?

I cant really tell from the picture but sure it has piped and has air so even if it did its completely fine was just wondering i wouldn't worry even if it had since it has got air.

I'm not completely sure it has pipped through the membrane though..I haven't seen the beak come through yet...

If he has broken the shell then he most definitely would have had to get through that membrane first. But if you very worried or its been a long time you could do a super quick check but I'm 99% sure the membrane would definitely be broken since the shell is. Pipping is super hard so once they get a small hole done they could rest for hours before there is ant more action. have a coffee "breathe" as sunshine sally would say

I watched a video of a woman hatching an emu egg before, she kept talking and whistling to it. It was amazing how the chick reacted it seemed to try a little harder. Supposedly the mother hen does this to, i am definitely going to try it when mine pop on the 15th i never knew about it before, good luck let me know how it goes

Is this normal for a pip?



I had to mist the eggs real quick because humidity had dropped and I have no more room to add jar lids or wet paper towels...

He has def got air because the membrane is cut, could be just a funny air cell like saddle shaped were they shipped to you? They still usually hatch fine and hes on the right path so far try to keep it closed so that you wont lose more humidity, i know im terrible at that part to it just so hard to wait but thats the best thing to do
