Careful where you point that. 22 is the deadliest round because of it small size it has a long range. I say air rifle with rock salt. Or get an outside dog to protect them.

It is not wise to try to make a pet out of a wild animal. It is dangerous on many levels. People tend to attribute characteristics to pets that the pets do not really possess. He may think that because the racoon is happy to be fed that it "likes" him or "loves" him. This is a good way to get bitten by an eager hungry critter.

And, OH YES they will eat your chicks and chickens and anything else that they can catch and tear apart.

I think their highest and best use is as a nice pelt--they make a warm cap or if you get the whole family of them a nice coat.
