PADUCAH - A local middle school has been busy creating quilts for earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.
Reidland Middle School students have been learning to make the blankets with art teacher Cathy Lyles.
Lyles is hoping to send at least 140 of them to relief efforts in Japan.
Cathy Lyles said, "Well, I think it's so important that the students are learning that just by doing something- what they think is a small thing- in art class is actually gonna make a big difference for someone else on the other side of the world."
All the materials for the project were donated by Wal-Mart and English Sew and Vac helped with the fabric cutting."

A nice story about nice kids.
