Hello everyone! We are currently dealing with a respiratory infection among our flock. From reading other posts on here it appears that tylan 50 may be the best option for treatment. Is there anywhere you can purchase this (preferably the powder vs the liquid) that does not require an rx? Local feed stores do not carry it.

Tylan 50 injectable is the only form of Tylan and the best one for respiratory diseases found in feedstores. If you can see your regular vet or an avian vet, you may be able to get Tylan Soluble Powder to put in the water. There are also other stronger, more broad-spectrum antibiotics available through a vet as well. Antibiotics may help treat symptoms of bacterial or mycoplasma diseases, but will not affect a virus. It can help to prevent secondary bacterial infections, frequently seen with viruses.
