Wednesday we will see if anyone pips! Im using the Hovabator still air incubator, thermometer that came in it, hand turning and staying roundabout the correct temp without checking it 1000x and last candling showed 19/24 developing perfectly-the last 5 will be a surprise due to the dark shells.

Now its a scramble to get the brooder room ready-since it is currently my indoor greenhouse/feed storage/gym/kitten room as well.

Im eager to see my mutts-we're hatching blue eggs, white eggs, brown eggs-with two blue gene EE roos and a RIR roo. No telling what comes out of my 9 breeds! Hopefully the cockerels are big-theyre going to be raised like kings and eaten in a few months.

Im contemplating what to do with my pullets that hatch-i already get 38 eggs a day and my ladies will be a year old in May. We have eggs EVERYWHERE. Wr have 55 dozen in the kitchen right now. I think im the only person who DOESNT want hens to hatch!

You probably are the only one who doesn't want hens, lol, though I have 40 in my incubator at the moment and collecting another batch to start hopefully wednesday and I don't know what I will do with all of them since I don't have room for too many more without my husband building. I have spring fever like crazy, so hatching just seems to be the thing to do :)

Try your local feed store.. The one near me will buy my eggs at 2.50 a dozen...They sell them for 3.00 Takes the stress of selling from me and a great way to pay for the feed and supplies I seem to always need

We dont do business locally (theyre very unprofessional). Driving an hour one way wouldnt be very cost effective.

Gaaah! How do you people do this?! Longest 21 days of my life! I set them at 4:32pm on Wednesday the 5th so today at 4:32pm will be exactly 21 days! No noise....no wobbling...had a ton of movement last time i candled (day 14). 19/24 were wiggling and thr last 5 were dark shelled mysteries!

I WANNA SEE MAH BABIES!

Seriously, i feel like i should have had decaf this morning, i keep going to peek in the window!

I set blue eggs, white eggs, speckled eggs (i still dont know who lays those but theyre gorgeous), dark brown, pinkish and orangey brown, khaki....im hoping i snagged my sumatra mix and a very particular new hampshire.
