I purchased these four 1-week-old pullets when they were only day-olds. Silly me forgot to ask what breed/s they were and when I opened the local feed stores website, they only list Lohmann Brown/White/Black... But I've only ever heard of Lohmann Browns...

What do you think? The blacks are slightly smaller than the whites.

What do you think?

Did you try calling the feed store, to ask what they had available that day? (If it changes with every order of chicks, they may not bother putting it up on the website, especially if the chicks sell out quickly.)

This page lists a bunch of different Lohmann chickens, including several different whites and browns (although I don't see any black.) It looks like they're all good egg layers.

@NatJ- I found out that they are all Rhode Island mixes. Blacks are Rhode Island/Australorp, and Whites are Rhode Island/White Leghorn.

We believe our 6 month rooster may be the same as the new blacks as he was identical as a baby.

Same here! I forgot to update / delete this thread after I found out. Looks like they'll be good egg layers based on all the breeds~

Excited to see them grown, especially Genie whose already so beautiful.
