Out of 13 eggs only one chick hatched. We did have her (I am willing her to be a HER) with chicks that were two weeks older the first day and they were all fine but they went out to the farm today. We were lucky because one of the broody hens was hatching guinea keets while we were there. We brought two home to keep her company.

How long can guinea keets stay with a chick? I know that they grow and fly sooner. I don't want her to be lonely. We do have a mirror in the brooder.

Hi gbtwinsmommy,

The keets can stay with the chick all the way to adulthood. The only problem I foresee is keets are so much more active and independent than chicks. If you are able to find another day to week old chick locally, I would try to find one. As the chicks grow, they will need a buddy. The keets may run off and leave the chick once placed outdoors, which would be hard on the chick. Those keets are active from day one.

Enjoy!
