So i have a little quail who hatched alone out of her batch (i posted a thread earlier about her making popping sounds but she was fine and active then) but now whenever i pick her up and set her down she just kinda closes her eyes and falls asleep. Usually she would run around and chirp until i picked her up again? A quail who hatched her batch did the same sort of thing, slept alot with closed eyes but she died (whjch is why im worrying over this one) She does perk up a bit when i pet her but when i tap on the side of the brooder she dosnt react (she used to jump right up and go crazy because she knew it meant i was there) idk what to do? Shes been drinking water and eating. EDIT- she wont even open her eyes anymore!! This is exactly what my other one did, help!!! 2nd Edit- I read on this other page where on their third day theirs starting dying and someone said it was because the heat shouldnt be higher than 95, so i pulled her out of the brooder and when i would lightly blow on her she would perk up, and after that i let her rest and sleep in my hand. She still isnt opening her eyes but when she tries to stand up she wobbles a lot. I have her back in her brooder at 95 degrees but idk what else to do. (Sorry this is so lengthy!)

Does your quail have hiding places, fresh bedding,a heat lamp don't put back in incubator after it's dry. Quails will usually do much better with friends I have a check that is due to hatch in about a week and I'll contact you if I have any problems or if I don't have any problems I'll tell you what I am doing. I hope this helps
