Lonely goose

I have 8 mix breed ducks and one African goose. Lately they all have been up from the pond to my front door. I bring them food, but the goose just stands there and honks misereably.

What does it want? Is he lonely?

My peafowl come up to the door because they like to look at themselves...yes, they are so vain! Is he looking at himself in the reflection of the window? Is he having a heart to heart talk with his reflection?

Geese like to live in pairs ...so he might be lonely. Is it a male? he might be lonely and talking to his reflection. You might want to get him/her a friend.

He or she may be calling trying to attract a mate. Tis the season.

He is a male so you are probably right. He used to have a mate, but she got killed by a coyote. I have 1 brown chinese and 1 white chinese in the brooder right now. Hope they like each other. P.S how long does it take geese to reach maturity?

I had a gander who was in love with my female ducks because his more dominant brother had claimed all the female geese, so I think dukcs are adequate companions for a lonely goose. But maybe yours just misses his mate?
