Lonely

The new guy is so lonely. He just sits and chirps until I pick him/her up. I tried putting a stuffed animal in the cage with it, but it doesn't help. I will have to get a chick from Atwoods soon to keep this one company... I wish the other hadn't died.

sorry ur other little one died. u definately need to get ur survivor a mate. i was amazed at what social animals they r! i had 4 2 week olds and 15 1 week olds and the 4 completely changed their personality when we were able to put the 2 groups together! They really just r social animals and the more the merrier!

I have 4 other chicks who are 5 and 6 wks old. But they don't like the new guy yet. They look at him as food.

Hubby is weary about getting another chick. I only got to sneak this one in bc he had said he wanted a Polish...

But he can't be lonely. He needs a buddy to cozy up to. It's just basic chicken math. One is a lonely number.

LOL! I do believe I am going to have to. But... I don't think the hubby will mind bc the chirping is starting to annoy him!

A feather duster, hanging in the brooder is great for a single chick or a clutch to cozy up to.
