We can't let him just roam wherever, as neighbors dogs/neighbors might hurt him, or he might hurt himself. He does go into the woods and neighbors properties though if he sees something he wants (example, our neighbor's grandkids were playing with a ball and he stole it).Let him be free to roam wherever he wants to, just establish a safe roost and to continue to provide feed and water. My friend gifted me a young peacock because we used to have before my dad had us chase him off because of the noise MEEOOW MEEOOW (20yrs ago). So my friend gifted me one about six months ago. Now he has moved to are neighbor place about three acres from us and roosting on his house and trees. In the present he has about eight square acres of territory, competing with another cock about two blocks away. Now are guy has a peahen on a clutch of eggs, they would always come by once a day (maybe looking for a safe nesting area) who knows. Will see if we get any new peachicks roaming around.

There is another colony of peacocks a mile away.
