Long time lurker… first time poster

I’ve been reading threads on here for quite a while, but just now decided to make an account. I got chicks in April/May/July and hopefully the first ones start laying soon! Here’s a breakdown of my beginner flock:

4/30/25 hatch:
1 Delaware - ordered 4, one made it past the first week
1 Barnevelder - ordered 2, one made it past the first week
0 Black Jersey Giant - RIP
1 FBCM -
1 SB Ameraucana
3 Lavender Orpingtons

5/5 hatch:
0 Ameribella - RIP
1 Bountiful Blue Egg Layer
2 Green Queen Easter Egger
1 Golden Cuckoo Marans

7/14 hatch:
2 Speckled Sussex
2 Splash Marans
2 Green Queen Easter Eggers

I fought getting chickens for years, and my wife finally convinced me this year. I’m glad we dove in! My kids have loved raising the chicks with me. Designing and building the coop for our small space has been really fun. I can’t wait til they start laying!
