Good question! I know someone who will take him off my hands, though they told me they can’t promise that he won’t be culled. My kids really like him and are enamored with the idea of him crowing around our yard, though I’m not sure if my neighbors will appreciate it. We live on a corner lot and so far lots of folks stop by to comment on how much they love the chickens, and I’ve always told them to please reach out and talk to me if the chickens get too loud. No complaints yet. We’ll see if they feel the same way once Fran reaches maturity. I’m hopeful that it will work out because someone on the other side of our neighborhood has had a rooster for quite sometime and folks in the neighborhood FB page will talk about how cute he his.
Hi Angie, thanks for joining us! Do you have a Plan B for the rooster in case you can't keep him?
Cochins are the cutest! I’m so glad we added Penny to the flock. My 6yo son was the one who added the descriptions to everyone’s names. He thought Penny looked deadly with her dark feathers and large stature. She’s certainly a formidable force in the flock! As a former long-time lurker, I can assure you that it's much more fun to be part of the party that is BYC.
I adore Cochins and. among mine, have two Partridge girls. I would love to know how Penny came to be labeled "the Black Widow."
A big BYC welcome to you and your flock, Angie!
