Look at the size of this egg!!!

I found this egg in my quail pen the other day and just could not believe the size of it. The other egg in the pic. is a golden pheasant egg to give you some idea just how big this egg is!! I truly hope that that this is only a fluke egg. I don't want which ever little girl who laid this to become egg bound! I'm sure that nothing will come from this but had to put it in the 'bator just to see.

We do not have any quail but that is a cute speckled egg! One of our LF hens laid a 4.3 oz egg and regularly lays eggs so big they do not fit in jumbo cartons. Poor girls..

I've tried hatching large eggs like that before and they turned out to be double yolkers.
The chicks formed but not to full maturity and died before hatching.
You never know though you might get lucky... Let us know how it did?
