Look at this!

Went to collect my daily eggs and one of my pekins (cochin to you USA guys!) had laid this. I've never seen anything like it. They lay small eggs anyway but.... Beside it is a normal pekin egg for comparison!

wow that's one tiny egg! never seen one that small from a chicken. wonder if its an egg inside or I've read sometimes if a little piece of something dislodges the body will treat it like its and egg and put a shell around it. wonder if that's the case here. have you opened it to see if it has a yolk or not. if no yolk its probably something the body passed and was shelled like an egg. have you checked inside yet? I'm curious as to what's in there?

When I get small eggs like that they have not had a yolk, only whites.

let us know what you find. its likely only a white .meaning something tiny passed in her body and it was shelled like it was an egg. aren't chickens interesting? they are always full of surprises! can't wait to hear what was in the egg?

I must have pyshic chickens because I found this little egg today when I got home. My husband wants to show it to his friends at work and then I will crack it. They are usually just the whites.
