looking for a certain post...

I'm looking for a post I saw a while back, where someone had used something like 2x4 frames with maybe hardware cloth, layed on the ground to allow grass to grow without the hens scratching it up. Does anyone have any feedback on this idea? My 6 hens have their own small yard (about 20x40) and I just can't seem to keep grass in it. I let them roam my backyard, but they destroy that too. thanks for any input!

I done it early on in my run but over time the chicken poop ended up burning the grass under the wire up so it quit growing.
