So I wanna order chicks to get around January-febuary. I’m looking for a harchery if any that allows me to pick different amount of each breed and different amount of sex. Is there any like this? Like I want 2 barred rock, 5 RIR, 2 Amerucana, and a rooster. Is there any sites I can pick and choose?

Mt Healthy allowed me to order the number I wanted of each breed, but had a minimum overall of 3, I believe. They also had a "small order" surcharge fee, as they had to add additional packaging/heat packs to keep the small number of chicks warm. The fee was $30, but it was worth it to me to get the few birds I wanted. I ordered 3 Bielefelders and 1 Blue Australorp for April delivery.

Cackle has no minimums for males of those three breeds and minimums of 3 for females of those breeds. So you would need to order two extra chicks. They can ship the first week of February or later (as of now, of course, if enough people order these breeds, they could sell out for that hatch date).

On the other hand, these are all vent sexed rather than sex linked breeds so your odds of getting 2 RIR females (80 - 85% accuracy) and 2 Americana females (75 - 80 % accuracy) go up from about 40% to about 90%.

Actually, that is 90% chance you will get at least 4 females from the six chances at it. I need a different probability calculator to find the probability of getting at least 2 females of each of these two breeds.

Not counting the 20% chance that the male isn't accurately sexed.

I order from Meyers.
You can order just one of any breed, some of the assortments you have to order a certain number.
They do get lake snow, and it can delay a shipment in the mail.
