All of these hatchery recommendations are great. I go with the "choose the best hatchery closest to you" and have had great luck with both Meyer and Mount Healthy! If you are getting smaller quantities yes, you will have to order in certain months. In addition note that these hatcheries also like to add in an extra chick for smaller orders. I received 2 speckled sussex in my order when I ordered 1. They are both hens and a lovely addition to my flock- just something to be aware of if you have space or local ordinance issues.
