At least the mulberry has a short season. Mine get over-treated seasonally...first the loquats then the mulberry. Fortunately they did not find the pears this year...the deers do a pretty good job of keeping those cleaned up tho.Of greater concern is the things like the grapes, mulberry bushes, blackberries which they can eat, and do eat, where excess consumption could really throw their diet out of whack.

What I'm calling Mulberry Bushes apparently isn't a true mulberry at all. Another poster identified them as "American Beautyberry", but my cell phone ap (Pictue This!) keeps claiming they are mulberry bushes, so its stuck in my head.Weird. My mulberry fruits in the spring.

I googled. According to the USDA, it is AKA French mulberry. That is the likely cause of the app to glitch/be wrong."American Beautyberry"
