Someone posted a nice design all wood box with wooden slats. I have looked all over and I hope someone can post the link. Or suggest a transportation/coop box made of wood that I can build.

Thank you

This one is plans for one made of mostly slats or 1x2s on the sides. This is a Word document, can't figure out how to link to the page, if you Google wooden chicken crate plans it comes up as a link.

These people make reproduction ones, they seem to be out of stock until later in the year though, I've seen other ads for "Amish" built ones also if you want to try and google that. They also seem to crop up fairly often on ebay etc as antiques.

Here is a basic ehow page on how to build them I had bookmarked.

Here is a transportation pen I made, that doubles as a brooder. I made it just tall enough that it barely slides under the vinyl bed cover on my truck. When used as a brooder in cold weather months, I affix foil backed insulation to the outside to help retain the heat inside. I built it to suit the size of 2 metal drip pans (oversized cookie sheets) that I bought from an auto parts store. For the first couple of weeks I cover the floor with newspaper and paper towel. Thereafter I remove the paper so that the poop falls through to the pans.
