i was to raise all roosters for feater and hackle pelts to sell to a local fly fishing shop if i am only raiseing roosters do i have to house them all seperatly or can i raise them in large pens with multiple birds to a pen i will be raising no hens

If you raise them all from young ages so they know each other from that point, and if they're a reliably friendly breed (not RIRs or game birds) then you should be fine. We have a "bachelor pad" where strictly roosters live, and they're fine. There are of course pecking orders and dominant roosters as well as ones lower on the "totem pole" but it isn't like they all fight all the time.

btw,

- You should add some hens in the mix just for the wonderful eggs too.

thank you for the help
when orders are estableshed is there a posibility of damage to pelts as pelts and feather quality are of highest consern
also thinking of raising exotic types of pheasant and quail but we are thinking about raising them with hens as the chickes are $valueble$ esp when i am paying 60$ or better a peice my self for them

we were thinking of raising geese and phesant hens for eggs

There was an EXCELLENT thread a couple-few years back, here on BYC, from someone who raised chickens for fly tying hackle. If you use the "search" utility (in the blue stripe across the page, not too far below the top of the page) you should be able to find it. IIRC there was some really hard-to-find and useful advice in there, so it should be well worth your while to dig it up.

GOod luck, have fun,

Pat
