Hey everyone!

I am a new duck owner. I have had two khaki Campbells (I think that's what they are) for a couple weeks and everything is going well.
A while ago I noticed my neighbor got an adult Pekin. Male I think. He has a curly feather in his tail. He's super friendly and runs to greet me at the fence whenever I go outside. He will play and run along the fence with me. I am scared to pet him because it looks like he wants to peck at me.
My neighbor came over today and explained she found him in the street and almost hit him so she took him in while she looked for his owner. She has not been able to find his owner and said we could take him if we want. She also confirms he bites and got her a few times.
I was wondering if you all think it's a good idea? I like him a lot but I don't want to risk him biting us or the other ducks. Is there anyway to break this habit? What would be a good home be like for a duck like this?

I would not bring him on to be with the little Khakis. Right now there is a huge size difference, and he will be twice their size even when they are full grown.

I would try to find him a home with other Pekins. There are rescue groups, and there is a Where Am I Where Are You forum here, as well as a Free Rehoming forum. And the Pekin duck thread on the duck forum. Who knows? He may even be suitable as an indoor duck.

Thank you! Yeah that all sounds good. I know there are a few people nearby with ponds that will probably take him in.
It gets me thinking about my own ducks though. What if one of them decide to start biting? I've been handling them daily so hopefully they will be used to me. One (who I'm wondering is a male since he's bigger) hates me holding him. The other doesn't like it but is a little more relaxed about it. Any tips would be wonderful. I was thinking about treats (peas or something) but I'm not sure exactly what's appropriate. I've read different information from different sources.

None of mine bite, not sure what to advise. Also, none of mine like to be picked up, but many like to be close to me, or even let me pet them.

For treats, ducklings need to have a tiny bit of chick grit over the course of several days, then they can have treats other than regular feed. There is a sticky on duck treats with special notes about ducklings.
