Hi! I'm a chicken owner in Minneapolis. I was wondering if you could help me spread the word. I'm looking for smart, good-looking chicken coops!

Did you design and build your own chicken coop? If so, your coop could be featured in an upcoming book. Send pictures of your coop (or links to photos online) to [email protected]. Include a quick description of your coop, the thinking behind your design, and the chickens who live there. Please indicate whether you would be able to provide building plans. (I have a budget to compensate builders for their plans.)

Then I'll be in touch if your coop meets our needs. Please feel free to share this message with any chicken-owners you know.

A little bit about me: I'm a writer and chicken owner living in Minnesota. I'm the author of Eat More Vegetables: A Guide to Making the Most of Your Seasonal Produce, The Minnesota Farmers Market Cookbook, and the Moon guides to Minnesota and the Twin Cities. This is my first chicken-related book.

Thanks!

Hi, folks! I'm just writing again to say I heard from a number of people (thank you!!!), but I am still on the lookout for more coops, especially coops made from found materials, those converted from sheds or doghouses, coops with green (planted) roofs, and hoop-house coops. But all types of coops are welcome and even if you don't have plans, but you're still proud of your coop, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

Tricia
