Ok so a family friend of mine has just started homeschooling. They daughter wants to hatch eggs but they don't have chickens & they want to. So I was wondering if there is a good place in CT where she can order the eggs from? She might pick them up if the place is near Saybrook. But I need this Info before Tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. She is not looking for any specific breed. Please help, thanks tons!!!!!!

How many eggs they looking for? I live in North Branford and I can sell eggs, I got mainly turkens, a few mutts, and a easter egger hen, the roosters are Turkens, all are very healthy. When I have a broody hen like 90% eggs always hatch.

She is not sure how many, not a bunch. She wants all hens & I think she would like hens who lay brown eggs. Just to start her off.

Well you cant really sex eggs... But almost all my chickens lay light/darker brown eggs except for the easter egger hen she lays a light blueish egg and I have a turken/polish mix that lays a off white color egg.

That sounds good. Do you send out? I will ask her about it. If she is not interested do you know any other hatcheries that you approve of?

I can prob ship some. There is a hatchery in CT mypetchicken that sells eggs but there a rip off and I heard bad things about there hatch rate also it's cheaper to buy from a local chicken farmer. But it's up to your friend.

Hi..Im over here lurking because Im looking to purchase just 2 or 3 guineas, either eggs or the chicks, when I saw your post mentioning "mypetchicken"...

Is that the same place as MyPetChicken.com ??

I have some chicks arriving from them next week and since Ive never used them yet, Im nervous .

Ive used ChickensForBackyards.com, who were FANTASTIC in how the babies were shipped, then Meyer Hatchery who was a Disaster..sent the package BACK to Themselves, then by the time I got them, they were all DOA except 2..

Now I found out that MyPetChicken Uses Meyer for their chicks.

UGH..

I have a mix of egg layer chickens, I get light brown, dark brown, and the blue green. I'm in North Eastern PA and could ship some eggs from them. It would be about $20. total to cover shipping and handling charge. How many eggs were wanted? My daughters class hatched some of our eggs last week. I sent in 24 and 21 hatched. So fertility rate is good. I have some due to hatch this weekend.

You can also contact BethG, she is a member here, and is great with the kids projects.
I believe she is in Bethany? Look up Gaetano farms, that's her.
