Let me start by saying I'm not allowed to have roosters I was about to sell him and all of his brothers that hatched when he came down with fowl pox. I don't feel it is ethical for me to try and relocate a bird with fowl pox.Unfortunately he has also just started crowing. I am already giving poultry cell to try and boost his recovery and everyone else is immune system. In the meantime is there something I can do to keep the crowing to a minimum and help him heal faster.
Edit: fixed autocorrect typo

Fowl pox is a virus mainly caused by mosquitos. It will have to run its course which takes about 6 weeks. I've dealt with fowl pox.
You can put iodine on the scabs which kills the virus and they will shrink and fall off. Avoid the eyes when using iodine.
Birds that recover from fowl pox are immune to that particular strain thereafter.
Perhaps you can cage your rooster and put him in the garage, shed, or a laundry room until the lesions clear up and disappear.

He has already been separated from the rest of the flock unfortunately the only separate building I could put him in does not have air conditioning and my area is still in the 80s/90s during the day
But thank you for the advice about the iodine I will start that as soon as I get home from work

Oh wow, so sorry!!

What is poultry salt? Did you mean Poultry Cell?

I'd treat him with a vitamin boost with like Poultry Cell or Nutradrench. That would help him while he fights this off.

Can you keep him in the house? There's no way to keep him from crowing, but if you could put him in a garage or spare bedroom, that would at least muffle it.

Looks like Dry Form of Fowl Pox.

This should resolve on its own over the course of several weeks. If you wish, you can paint the lesions with Iodine to help dry them up.
