Hey Folks,

With my flock outgrowing the Saltbox pre-fab coop we have been using for the last year, I'm looking into either:

1. Building a new coop with a run (Pro: plenty of coop space; Con: much more costly)

2. Keep the existing coop but build a much larger run (Pro: lest costly; Con: limited coop space).

I've been looking at several photo diaries of others who have built their own coops, but I have not found many schematics / plans that I am looking for. I do have the Purina plan (link), but I was hoping to find a couple others ones as well.

Please let me know if you have links to different coop schematics or have any suggestions as we continue in our planning phase.

Thanks!

You might try your public library and look for books on how to build a shed. Its not that hard to convert a shed into a coop. You can get books that show you how to do the details and you can find books with detailed plans and material lists. Home Depot and Lowe's have some books like this but your selection at the library is probably much better.

Sometimes the best plan or idea is your own and finding recycled products to help out on the cost. But, it dont hurt to look at a plan that some one else had done and using it. It goes a lot faster. Especially for me because I get Senior Moments
