looking for help from maine members

I am in the midle of building a 8x8 coop the only chicken wire on it will be in the windows and doors the door will also be soild as I built two doors so I can leave the main door open on nice days they will also have access to there run
should this be insulated or will they keep each other warm in the winter you all know how it gets up here, or should I go with a heat lamp
was also going to run a 60 watt bulb so they will keep making eggs in the winter as I have learned reading post here that they should have 12-14 hours of light new at this so just looking to do it right as it is getting close to winter already

I live in Florida. I had my coop in the sun and it was near 100 deg in it. I put the coop in the shade and insulated the ceiling and it doesn't get much above mid 80's on really hot days. I live in North central Florida. I do keep a red light on in my coop 24/7. My girls pretty much each lay an egg a day. Once in awhile they skip a day. A lot of breeds are pretty cold hardy. The more chickens the warmer the coop will stay. On really cold nights when it gets around or below freezing here in the winter, I have a red heat lamp that I put over an area of their roost. They will move around until they find their ideal spot.

I used to spend my summers just north of Ellsworth, Me. More east actually.

My coop isnt insulated, but im sure it would help. We use a heat lamp on the coldest days. We had a moveable run that we would put in the basement for the winter for the silkies since they are more sensitive, but the silkies became fox dinner....
With our black sex links even with the heat lamp they didnt lay through the winter, but they didnt seem too cold.
