I've seen sewn and crochet hen apron patterns, but none for knitting.
Does anyone here knit hen aprons, and are you willing to share your pattern? I don't sew or crochet, but have some people interested in hen aprons, and would like to try knitting some ( for my girls, as well)

Thanks!

I havent seen any patterns for knit or crocheted hen aprons.

Id be a bit concerned that the rooster would get his claws or spurs caught in the knitted fabric.

I had thought that too, but there's a hen rescue site that has a pattern for crocheted aprons. Though, maybe they don't have any roosters, I'm not sure. Maybe I'm going to have to learn to sew......

I think those aren't for breeding hens, where roosters could get entangled. They're to keep hens warm that are coming out of the commercial layer houses half bald, going to live in people's backyards. They have patterns that are like little sweaters for the hens. I'd go with a smooth fabric for aprons, if the hens live with roosters.

Now, if I've totally gotten the wrong idea and the girls you want to knit aprons for are human children that want a chicken picture knit into their own apron, you just let me know.

You're right-- they are for chickens. I don't sew, and know someone who's interested in hen aprons... but I guess knitting won't work. Guess she's on her own
