Our female Pekin (Peaches) has been overmated by her two Drake companions. They were raised together from itty bitty duckling. She's being isolated in a spare chicken coop right now. She struggles a bit to walk and has visible injuries. The boys are allowed to visit through chicken wire (no contact). We have another female Pekin living with the boys that has done a good job deflecting the Drakes' advances. The other female is also bonded with a chicken (adopted from a family whose remaining flock was attacked by a fox). Since the other female is bonded with a chicken, we're hesitant to separate them and definitely don't want to put the chicken in since Peaches has some feathers missing so it's an open wound.

I know ducks are very social creatures so we feel terrible keeping her by herself. However, the dynamics are pretty tricky. Any suggestions to help loneliness without moving her into our house?

No, thank you for asking! She was ultimately integrated back in with the flock and sleeps in the same house but separate for her safety.
