After a "haitus" from chickens (well, I still have my trusty RIR and Wyandotte left) I am fortifying a new flock of chickens in a brand new coop- I can't tell you how excited I am!!
Feeling like the last batch, purchased from an "unnamed" hatchery, were subpar I took a big breath, reached deep into my wallet and purchased 14 beautiful day-olds from Greenfire. They are everything I had hoped they would be, healthy, robust, beautiful...... but already several cockerels (all four of one breed are boys!!!).
I did not order any Marans but would love to have some of their yummy chocolate eggs! I wish I could make a second fat order from Greenfire, but my wallet is not THAT deep....
Can anyone recommend a breeder that is producing that kind of quality/health but with a slightly lower price? I am not looking for free birds, but clearly I have to order many so I can end up with a few nice girls!
