We have a hen that is sitting in a garbage can 1/2 filled with baling twine, but no eggs. We got some fertilized eggs for her and want to make a well designed nest box. The last time we had a sitting hen, the first one hatched and was found dead, so we removed the remaining eggs and incubated them until they hatched. We think the box was to small and it got stepped on. What is the best set up for successful natural incubation and hatch?
