I bought a new gravity feeder for my girls and a drake that stays with them, but I’m not sure it holds enough feed to last a few days. It lasts for maybe a day at the most before I have to add more. My boys that live on the opposite side of the divider have a feeder that I built that holds enough feed to last a day, depending on how much I put. I was thinking about buying a gravity feeder that has a timer or whatever on it, but I don’t think that that would work. I’m afraid that if I have to go somewhere for a few days (like a funeral or something), they will run out of food and water. Obviously, they don’t need food and water at night. They only have enough water to last then during the day, but I take it out when it’s their bed time. How could I possibly keep them fed and watered if I have to go somewhere? There’s no one to come over to feed and water them. I don’t feel comfortable using metal feeders or waterers bc I don’t want the ducks to get cut or something. There’s also the problem of keeping the feed from getting all over the ground. Their water is in a dish pan. 1 dish pan for the boys and the other for the girls and the 1 drake. I don’t wanna spend a costly amount of money on feeders and waterers. I have a huge feeder that I bought from walmart, but I’ve yet to use it bc I don’t really have anywhere to hang it up in the coop and it’s probably better off being used for deer corn or something and I’m not sure how much food it holds. What are my options? I’m willing to buy from amazon. I have 9 ducks.
