Looking for prices

A neighbor down the street where I live owns a hunting husky dog, dog got out of her yard, came to my yard and killed 5 of my Rhode Island Reds, they’re about a 1 1/2 year olds. Owner is willing to pay back for the chickens but I can’t seem to find prices anywhere, hatcheries only sell baby chicks. Does anyone have an idea how much these cost? Or who I can call to get a solid quote?

From what I understand you should quote the neighbor at the price the birds were to you. How much it costs to raise them, feed, house, and how much they meant to you. Not base it so much on the price of new birds.

The only place I’ve found started birds is on local farms, or Craigslist, though. They usually sell week old pullets for 10-25 dollars. If it’s Craigslist people sell their birds for anywhere from 10-50 dollars a bird. But the ones on Craigslist are usually 16 weeks or older.
