I have chickens ranging in age from 3 weeks to 4 months. When should I start worming? And what is the best type of wormer? If what you recommend is sold as a wormer for a different animal, please specify dosage for chickens at mines age. Looking forward to your help with this,

Thank You,
Jud

I don't worm mine until they are a year, which is just a few weeks away. I mean I would if I saw a problem (not necessarily the worm itself but signs) I would wait until they are 6 months at least. If you clean your coop out every 7 to 9 days, it's hard for worm life cycles to get going to infect your birds.

No actual data supports this idea. I'm sure that they like to eat the seeds, though. Yummy! I didn't worm my flock for years, and then a neighbor had a problem with roundworms and gapeworms (found on necropsy) so we both began to treat our birds, once or twice a year. I have fecals checked occasionally too. Mary
