My son just finished up his 1st county fair with chickens and he absolutely loved it. Now he (and I) have got the itch. He has taken a liking to Welsummers. The judge told them all that they need to make sure they are getting good quality chickens so we don't want to buy from a hatchery. I'm looking for some young hens and maybe a rooster. Our pullets can be no older than 1 year as of next July 1st, so if I could find some chicks now, they should be ok. If anyone could point me in the right direction towards a good breeder, I would appreciate it. Or if anyone here has some good ones that they are willing to part with, that would be great too. Thanks so much.
As always, he is also on the lookout for Turkens, but they seem to be very difficult to find.
