Looking for your idea on painting my new coop!

Hi Everyone!

Well my new coop arrives tomorrow! We will seal the inside with Thompson's water seal and paint the outside. Here is where all of you come in. I see SO MANY awesome paint designs and color on your coops that I am looking for YOU to help me choose a color and something fun to put together. We live in the desert southwest so we get no snow but lots of sun! I like pots of flowers near by although may be impossible with our sun in the summer. I would like to know what I could maybe add to the coop or area around it to make it look just darling. That outhouse door sold me on this. It's got cute potential but I just can't think of just one idea! Please help! I am going to try and post a picture of it. God bless you and thank you so much!

We wanted to get colorful with our coop, so we did a pale sky blue for the walls, and sky blue trim. It looks very pretty and clean. If you want, I can take a pic when I get home and post it tomorrow.

When we first started discussing colors we were thinking of going with a yellow base with brown trim, like bumble bee colors. But ultimately we decided to go with a red brick color with white trim and a grey roof. Our house is a barn style roof with red brick and white trim and so is the shed, so this worked well for us.

I just finished the main part of this coop, so all the finish trim isn't up yet. It will be in white. But you can see the red color. The color is Behr Red Brick from Home Depot.

This is lovely! My thoughts are to go with red but can you picture that with my coop? I thought of another color for the door or just painting around the moon (over the color of the door) to make it stand out more.

I would stay away from red, just because it doesnt really go with the moon. A yellow or blue color scheme would be better. And obviously nothing close to black, or the chickens will overheat. Im am sorry I couldnt post that pic, iwill as soon as I can.

The blue is very pretty and what a nice coop! I am now thinking pale yellow with white trim.

When I saw the door with the moon cut out, I thought of a navy blue for the top of the door and yellow stars. Since you like flower pots, why not paint the bottom white or off white, with green grass spears at the bottom and paint your flowers along the bottom. Trim it out in yellow.
