Hi Everyone, I have ordered 2 dog proof racoon and weasel traps, I'm thinking about putting one on the metal roof of the coop and one on the ground. They basically trap predators by the hand and hold them while they reach in for dinner. Is placing one on the roof a good idea? Coop is pretty close to a pine tree and easy to pounce on.I figure unless their up to no good they won't be affected. But i am going to cover every possible point of entry. Read so many horror stories. I have a Foster Home and the kids would be mortified if they came across a bad scene. Thanks

I was told the best place to put the trap is on the wall of the coop. high enough that a chicken could not accidentally get caught but still accessible for the predator. I was told the best is to Bait with some meat.
If you feel the roof is to visible, could you place it on the side of the coop away from view?

yes, There is several options to set it, Most likely if lower less work for them. So that maybe a good idea, Thanks
